Check-out this retailer, holding up nicely today and it sure looks like it is now on a #Pre-earnings move, after $ROST reported and they will be reporting their earnings on 11/22....and my guess is, they are going to beat. .....Take a look at their #Website and you will be surprised ...Retail stores...1625 locations, plus Direct-to-Consumer, Wholesaler, Apparel and all the Fashion-Accessories, for Men, Women, Children and Infants....they have a huge product line....Shoes, Fragrancies, Jewelry, Eyewear, Watches they sale everything, you name it and they Sale it....Worldwide, since 1981 and they are headquartered in LA California. .....I have a position and I added today.

- champ: $XRT, I'm holding this ETF and there are also many retailers that are working and I'm holding these, $AEO, $ANF $AMZN $GES $GPS $CPRI $GCO $HIBB $KTB $LB $LEVI $OLLI $RL and I added to $GCO today and I took profits on $FIVE....however I added back a small spec swing, near the close. $FIVE....this is a perfect #Example of what can happen, when #CopyCat-sellers start taking profits. ~~~ I'm watching this retail sector closely because I have targets on a few others also. The #Set-up is,...Retail Sales numbers for the month of March, will be reported on Thursday 4/14.

- taylor: $LULU #Options @jdaniels - to be honest, I don't trust this stock (or retail in general ... see $GES and BIG for examples). I am presently short a series of puts at much lower strike prices (30's and 40's) for several months out into the future. I am also short the stock, so I'm biased. Maybe other option traders here could chime in... Hope that is helpful.

Recently when it started trending down I sold april calls and bought april puts that I closed out today for an $8.00 gain. Looking to short calls again once it starts hitting resistance or trends down. Still down but I have cut my losses in half by utilizing the #options. @Tradervic Note: long aapl (long calls and bull put spreads), bidu, $AGNC, dltr, ffiv, ges, nflx, v, wynn, yoku. Took a stock position in Cree with a $1.00 stop loss. Most of the others I am holding stock with short calls and applying puts when appropriate. I did all the homework and much more than #Cramer's one hour per week since I recommended this stock in the Forum [check it out]. For some reason [I was trying things with the new TOS Prodigio platform?...oops!] my stop did not work on partial position. I got absolutely crushed in the last week. Why? other retailers did not make their numbers. Which is so stupid because GES? is nobody's GES. $GES has very large world market vs. U.S. only. Of course, that's MY view, not the markets.....which is always 'right.' But, Revenue at Guess rose 10% to $592.2 million from previous $539.3 million. The gains? Asian and European operations. $GES exceeds the so-called analysts' estimates...... $GES @ 44.76 $AH Another $FFIV story, thank goodness, for those of you who like your caffeine.

Noteworthy, $KSS tanked to 53.49 just where support was drawn. Do NOT ignore this stock as is moving against the market today. Also someone pointed me to #Cramer link re KSS. For the life of me, I can't find this reference and gave up. What did he say? $GES should have more legs than this unless the books are cooked which is possible. This is more than U.S. retail with the international exposure. $LULU is not a stock; it's a happening and should not even be in the retail section. The good news for me is I identified several great buys, made some money this week, and am learning immensely. Another week, more opportunities. I really am liking the regional banks right now. Look at $KRE and $KBW for a tell on the industry..pushing 52 week highs. HBAN..own it..looks great. Like @Dan says, if it can hold $5, no reason why it won't go to $6 quickly. KEY..missed it under $7...want it..hope it pulls back to $7. A few names that I'm looking at:ITUB, UMPQ. Like the suggestion above on STT. I went to an arcade the other day, I don't go all that often, and there was a $GES shop, their @trendy brand... uhh, I forget the brand. It was during the day and I think that shop was the only one with people in it! Everyone else was window shopping. I decided to venture in. Too @trendy for me. I do most of my clothes shopping at Golfsmith!

- jan2138: Horsey: URRE: One of these days, this one will make its move up through that 14.00 level you mentioned. The 50 day sma on the weekly and the 200 day sma on the daily keep moving up and keep serving as resistance. I think the next earnings report may help it as increased production and favorable pricing should give results a boost. Re: your $RL and $GES, I have stayed away from this sector because they are affected too much by consumers' whim. As one who gets to a mall once a year, I have no idea what's hot and what's not. The way I see it, even those who profess to know have a hard time figuring this sector out. My hats off to you if you can consistently make money in these names.

Piper Jaffray feels that Guess?' growth prospects in its international markets are currently underappreciated and should remain strong. - HorseTrader: Easy to see why #Cramer doesn't like UA. PE of 45 with a 25-30% growth rate, compared to $NKE at PE 17 with 15-20% growth rate. $RL, PE 15, 25% growth, $GES PE 18 with 25% growth. Even $TRLG, PE 13 on 18% growth. #Cramer right now is very selective with retail, advising only a couple stocks... $RL, $GES, and JCG are the ones I've seen him recommend. thestreet.com Breakout Stocks is long $GES, which is where #Cramer is getting his feed there.
- HorseTrader: @Bob - Thanks for the link. I'm currently long $GES with a 1/3 position, so it was interesting to watch. I didn't realise IBD did these free videos. Will have to look for them now.
- HorseTrader: @jason - I would think charts that were down last year might see a positive reversal as traders finished cashing out Monday for tax purposes. They are now free to buy back their positions for this year. For those high flyers, hard to say. Traders might start taking profits or just let their positions ride. Thinking in these terms, I would be hesitant to take a new position in any of last years high flyers, while looking at the beaten up, depressed, contrarian stocks might provide some good upside. Despite the negativity, I think select retail might be the big winner this year. Most stocks have already factored in the worst recessions. Anything above -10% $GDP growth should provide upside to many of these stocks. I'm long $GES and RL.
