  • spmeyers: @bRobert $DRIV is a good play on EVs; also $LIT for the lithium side; I own both -- there is a LOT of froth in individual EV stocks
  • grcjr: $DRIV earlier today one of the CNBC team (might have been Joe) mentioned that he owns this ETF. When I looked at what is included in the ETF I found the top 10 amount to 26.48%. Top 10 TSLA Tesla Inc 4.54% QCOM Qualcomm Inc 2.87% AAPL Apple Inc 2.71% NIO NIO Inc 2.58% NVDA. NVIDIA Corp 2.53% GOOGL Alphabet Inc 2.33% 7203 Toyota Motor Corp 2.32% PLUG. Plug Power Inc 2.30% Samsung Electronics Co Ltd 2.18% MSFT Microsoft Corp 2.12% Looking at the full list I'm not all that impressed. I own several of their larger holdings. At least IMHO, I need to view the complete list of holdings to decide if I want a mixed basket of tickers or just a couple good ones. One strategy has been to just buy a few of the top holdings instead of the whole basket. I just own a few I consider good ones. On the other hand, it is moving today.

$DRIV mentioned this yesterday as a #squeeze breakout on very heavy volume. It continued to move up on even heavier volume today. On the weekly, this weeks move puts it above the #200ema and clear of a downtrending resistance line. 13% short interes ...
  • karkn: $DRIV #squeeze breakout on high volume. The #squeeze is not as tight as we like but still a strong move. Also a breakout past recent resistance on the weekly. Starter position
  • eleKtra: $DRIV "Digital River upgraded to Buy at Caris & Company; tgt $36 (29.64 +2.07) Caris upgrades shares of $DRIV to Buy from Average with a $36 tgt. Firm says after yesterday's news that the two companies have not only extended but also expanded their agreement, they are incrementally more positive on the ramp-up of the company's core business. Firm thinks that Microsoft has a strong incentive to develop Digital River as a channel and they view this extended and expanded agreement as a confirmation of Microsoft's plans."
  • DragonFly: $DRIV - thanks , eleKtra
  • Hans_Schultz: $DRIV - Hah, I interviewed with them about 12 years ago. Kind of a "different" feel inside at least at that time. Beer on Friday afternoons, etc. Could be quite different now I imagine though. At the time I think Best Buy was their big customer.
  • DragonFly: $DRIV - I've been watching DRIV. Closed today above the upper BB and the 50 and 100 day ma are crossing. Last time that happened it really toke off. I think thats called a golden cross. I'm paper trading this one to see how well I'm reading the charts.
  • mStar: I have a question for @Dan or any experienced traders. I noticed that in the past few days many stocks were breaking down. Some were at the top of the Bollinger #squeeze just several days ago and I was waiting for them to break out. Instead, they touched the upper band or might even broke out slightly, then they plunged down to break below the lower band. Here are some of the stocks: $KLAC, $DRIV, NVLS, $ADI, $DISH, $FSLR, $TSS, $FMC, $MELI, $TXN, $STP RINO, FLX. What are the implications of these break downs? Is this a warning from the market? Is it time to start looking into #shorting these stocks?
  • phxpeh: $DRIV - VERY tight vs (on 30 day and 100 day charts), ready to burst...
  • phxpeh: $DRIV - 4% vol #squeeze...strong today...
  • lone wolf: $DRIV - A 59'er I'm cutting.....opens weak when the rest of the street is up nicely. See ya later!
  • phxpeh: $DRIV - pre-market down 15...points..lost Symantec contract...gap traders taking this? Anyone?
  • CallaLilly: $DRIV - Did you call my name? I'm, umm, available for this. Yes, yes I am. Let me think - small slice at 25.25 - they expect their revenues to grow. Oh heaven. Oh beautiful Monday. This is why there's Fight Club #1 Rule - do not hold into earnings unless you have an edge or a very boring stock. This is so hard - it closed at 40.42. Oops dripping down some more. This is very extreme action and very serious damage.
  • CallaLilly: $DRIV - This was twilight zone diving. There's the maximum power of the bears which I think was reached in the premarket, around 25.00. This is a heartbreaking plunge - stunning. At about the moment when the bears walked away, licking their dirty paws, Piper Jaffray (my favorite tier one analyst) came out with ... Digital River buy on weakness, a must own down here, says Piper Jaffray. Stops in place when the market opens. This was a premarket buy, and @Dan taught us how to frame these, not just wildly buy misbehaving stocks. This is a 59 minute trade of extreme severity. And lessons must be learned here.
  • phxpeh: $DRIV - a boi o' support around 24.50...bet you can get it for 23 still, maybe 22.50...taking a piece? I like to watch, looking at $XEC instead...
  • CallaLilly: $DRIV - 23.82 LOD ... crazy, right? Am I misreading this: Digital River sees Q3 results at or slightly above top end of prior guidance The company said it expected third quarter revenue of $96.5M-$98.5M and $EPS of 38c-41c. Consensus is for revenue of $97.75M and $EPS of 40.
  • phxpeh: $DRIV, $LNC - yes, 23.82...but with so little to work with, somehow you might exepct the shorts to take another shot at 23 or 22.50...but just a guess...looking to add $LNC on the dip instead (after selling some Friday, no suppot yet, unlike $DRIV which has a couple green bars on 5 minute chart...)
  • CallaLilly: $DRIV - There's several strong analyst notes so this should end. I'd love some more down low.
  • lone wolf: $DRIV - Following the teachings of my 59 minute master, I took the initial 20% of a risk sized position with a iron clad stop below as it demonstrated a little buying interest. Whereas I may have plowed 'all in' in my pre "risk manager" days, the limited position enables me to dare leave the screen and let whatever happens, happen.
  • CallaLilly: $LVS, $MGM - There are buys and sells, positive and negatives. We have good analysts (Piper Jaffrey as an example) and less so (tier not one). If you look at $DRIV you'll see the same conflict - sell, buy on weakness, wait it's weak. There are stops to protect your position.
