- DrScience: $TLRY reports after the bell today. The stock opened near Friday's high and has sold off along with $ACB and $CGC which reported their quarterly results this morning. All these stocks are HTB, so a little good news from Tilray could help squeeze new shorts out of their positions. Also, watch $CARA, $ARNA, and $CRBP for earnings-related and pin-action moves tomorrow.

- phgruver: $CARA has been trading in a channel since 7/25. Earnings, on 8/7, were better than expected, and the stock has continued to grind sideways. The BB's have narrowed to about 8%, and may become tighter, as the trading range narrows. Right now, the channel is between $22.30 and $24, but to be a breakout, the price would have to clear $24.70, with volume. This pattern reminds me of how $TNDM looked two weeks ago, before it broke out....

- phgruver: Another worth watching, $CARA. Earnings are behind, and were better than expected. While its been trading sideways since mid July, the price is back above the 50DMA, and the moving averages are all in the right order. Last Thursday it hit an interim high of $24.73, about 4% above the current price. If it can break through that level, that clears the way back to the 52 week high of $27.55.
- phgruver: @Tango Pre-market, the indexes are all up. At 9:20am, $DIA +1.18%, $IWM 1.12%, $QQQ 1.42% and $IWM 1.67%. What that means is that there is a general lift in stocks. Almost everything will open up. You need to be working from a watch list of stocks that are near good entries, that you know enough about to trade without guessing. I'm looking at $CVS, $PAYS $CARA and $SMH. I'm already in all of these and I'm looking to either add or take profits.

- phgruver: $CARA was up another 4%, today, closing at $22.37. It broke out of an 8% squeeze, last Thursday, on below average volume, but has continued to run. Avg. vol., for this issue, is only 756K, so it is thinly traded, but if institutions take notice, it could go up in a hurry! (With a market cap. of 889M, it could also become a take over target....)
- lostsheep: $CARA - another stock that may finally be breaking to a new range. The 20.8 area has been problematic for this stock since 10/18. above the recent high of 21.93 should clear the way for higher prices.
- phgruver: @lostsheep $CARA $CARA's primary drug, Korsuva, is used to tread "itchiness" in patients on dialysis. The announced a successful phase 3 trial, using an injectable version of the drug, back on May 27. Now, teaming up with Enteris BioPharma, they've introduced an oral tablet, and are moving into phase 2 trials with it. Indications, so far, are positive, and the trial is widely expected to be successful. This is definitely one to watch.

Yesterdays high of 16.82 just above the current price. Short interest still showing 16%.. earning's still in the distance 3/14 and short term support in the 16 area. Jeffries assumed buy on 2/6 with a price target of 22.

- bRobert: @kus123 $IBB $TLRY $AMGN $VRTX $BIIB $REGN $CELG $CARA The large cap names have strong revenues/earnings. Large cah reserves and strong institutional support. Some like $AMGN even pay a 2.5% dividend. Many of the specs have never had positive earnings, are dependent on cash infusions for survival, and many also have a small stock float that is more subject to whipsaw action. Many are dependent upon the development of only a handful of unproven drugs at best. Biotech and drug companies in general have headline risk based on medical study results as well as legislative changes to a smaller degree. You have much greater safety in an ETF that contains manybig players with great cash flows and and a better instinct for survival.

- bRobert: $HIIQ Look at the 5min chart multi day. This nicely shows this move unfold. Breakout from long sideways consolidation/squeeze. Use of VWAP to get a better entry. This is a long term hold for me. I was using this time frame for the best entry points for adds. Not a day trade for me although this would have been a healthy one with a $6 move Worked similarly with $CARA over several days.
