- TRICIA: $ALKS - adding here -- recall last week - Dublin-based Alkermes (NASDAQ: ALKS) provided the first Phase 1 data for an oral multiple sclerosis drug its developing called ALKS 8700. Alkermes said the data from the trial—which, in part, pitted ALKS 8700 against Biogen Idec’s dimethyl fumarate (Tecfidera)—were GOOD enough for it to try to move the drug STRAIGHT INOT a pivotal study later this year.

- Tricia: $ALKS - no position but this is a #Cramer favorite Alkermes depression drug gets FDA fast-track status and powers higher after the biotech company's investigational treatment for major depressive disorder received fast-track designation from the FDA. The ALKS-5461 once daily treatment is earmarked for use for hard-to-treat cases. Chief Medical Officer @Elliot Ehrich says the FDA's move "supports our position that there is a clear and compelling need for a novel mechanism for the treatment of depression."

- jojo1480: LLY- @Tricia, thanks. Was in the trifecta with AMLN and $ALKS when it was rejected in 2010. Fortunately hedged the bet with puts, little harm. Now just long $LLY, looking to sell more calls/puts against it to increase the yield.

- debrup: Biotech: some interesting charts $ALKS AMRI $INCY PRGO SUPG SQNM $BIIB NBIX , every weekend i scan the Biotech stocks hoping to see some interesting charts. Some Volatility Squeezes like $PRGO NBIX $SQNM SUPG ,and some cup and handle close to breaking higher $ALKS BIIB and $INCY (which is failing today). Maybe good to keep an eye on.
- Catwoman: $ALKS - (AMLN) - Alkermes (ALKS) is a biotech company that makes a newly FDA-Approved product (Byetta and Bydureon) that makes it possible for Type 2 diabetes patients to only need one shot per week. Per @Mike Huffman on Fast Money a few weeks ago, $IF Alkermes got FDA approval, it would be almost "all profit" because it's the key ingredient in Amylin's new once-a-week diabetes drug. To make a long story short, the FDA approved the drug last week, and I entered on the news with a 1/3 position, expecting to add the last 2/3 on dips...Is anyone else involved in this stock? @Catwoman ;~D
- jojo1480: $ALKS - AMLN, the letter issued by the FDA is that no new clinical trials were needed, that' s a pretty far cry from getting approval from the FDA. I am long $ALKS & AMLN, once approval is given, i am sure the stock will react more strongly to the upside. my 2c.
- Catwoman: $ALKS - AMLN - (jojo) - This is my first entry into the world of biotech...The reports I read sounded as though FDA approval was pretty much a done deal, save working out the labeling...It sounds as tho you're more experienced in this sector, so please expand your comments...How long does it usually take to get the labeling finished and then get it to market? I'm encouraged by your brief comments, because it sounds as tho there's potentially much more upside and that I am indeed buying the rumor, instead of the news...Is this right? Are you adding at this level? It's kind of tough for me to judge based on the technicals, since this is such a fundamental story. Thanks, @Catwoman ;~D

- DarceMaster: $ALKS - just looking at candlestick and p&f charts, it looks like this stock has a lot of resistance trying to get above $12.50...or maybe slightly lower at this point. If it breaks above $12.50 or better yet $13, it may be able to make some progress up to around $17 or so. P&F has bullish price target of $19. Wouldn't be a straight line up, or even a guarantee of a rise, just a plot.
- CallaLilly: Biotech - HGSI belongs on the list along with $VRML (lost its Q). Studying some charts of the participants in the BioCEO Conference next week (February 8-9). Biotech usually moves on good news (or bad). Last week savaged biotech but still ... Some I'm looking at are $CERS, $PPHM, $IMGN, $ACHN, $KERX, $SCLN, $CVM (most think this is pumped), $CHTP, $BMRN (nice, very nice), $OREX,OPXA, $ARIA, $ACAD, $ALKS, ISPH, $RPRX, ALTH, $CRIS, $PDLI, $ACOR ( on fire), $GNVC (good entry), SUPG (still in uptrend), MRNA, $ALNY, $ATHX, $CYTK ... well there's more but this is more than enough to look at pipeline and charts. DDSS as a February 11 FDA date for Trazadone, which is getting a lot of attention.

It does have a webcast of its conference coming and maybe if that could be a catalyst for something. I'll look at it more afterhours; bothered that it's really trading like a dull stock and not a hot little biotech.

- suzie76040: Hi Guys, $ALKS is going to report 5/31. Any reports out there for them? Looks like it is breaking out. I look for meandering for the rest of the week... On another note, how does coal do in the sumertime? I would think it would do relatively well because the powerplants like TXU are tied to it. Anyone have any history on that?
