- kat: #yieldhogs @Jan2138, what do public offerings mean to someone as inexperienced as myself... the price coils will likely coil awhile? Also, any suggestions on any longs? I have had my eye on $NLY for awhile, but assume it needs to find its bottom. This morning I was reading about $AVB, $EQR, $AIV, $UDR, however I also realize there has been recent news on #REITs making them a bit "iffy" at this time. I don't want to miss out on real estate, so I am thinking maybe $HD, $LEN, and/or XHB. Not sure if these will just keep going up or should wait for a dip. Have been thinking about buying a small house to possibly sell in a few years, but not sure I am ready for the long commitment or the time consuming responsibilities.

- rcline: Volatility #Squeeze Watchlist and what it is telling me I have been tracking volatility squeezes, monitoring them through phases 1-3 and looking for candidates to buy. Recently strong trends have emerged in my watchlist. Of the current 51 stocks that I am either invested in or tracking here are the big sectors: #REITS (11 stocks or 21.6%): $ACC, $AIV, $AVB, $CLP, $CPT, $EQR, $HIW, $LXP, $MAC, $MPW, $UDR Food (7 stocks or 13.7%): $DPS, $GIS, $K, $MJN, $SAFM, $SJM, $UL Utilities (6 stocks or 11.8%): $AWK, $CNP, $EIX, $NRG, $OGE, $WR Not clear whether the market is being defensive or just the normal early cycle candidates. Does anyone speculate like this? I took the idea and had this whole thesis about how people were losing their jobs and had to $MOVE, and tried to play that. I had $CAR, $HTZ, DTG, $R, $AAWW (cause I liked them at the time, and justified buying them ... - dunsek: CBG- $KIM and $AIV are another couple to bear in mind for the real estate inclined. Both having big moves today, but not so far along as $CBG in the bb expansion. Long KIM.

- dunsek: Looks like Friday was too early to be closing out any positions! All kinds of green in the premarket. $XLF reflecting a very broad based #financials advance, materials looking good via AA. On real estate, @Dan mentioned $CBG on the weekend. Two other realty companys worth watching are $AIV and KIM. Both appear to be in the early stages of an advance.
- dunsek: The recovery is just around the corner- at least according to my weekend scans :) I'm seeing lots of good charts- for example Media, advertising, publishing: $IPG, $NWSA, $NYT, $GCI, $CMCSA Business services and equipment: $PBI, $CVG Retailers: $M, BIG, $LTD Oil and Gas, and refining: $HES, $SUN, $CHK #REITS; $PLD, $AIV and even $AA is trying to bust out of resistance, with bb's showing signs of a beginning expansion. I'm about 50% invested at the moment, but not in any of the above. For me, this phase of the market is more troubling for having too many opportunities and trying to decide between them, than for having too few.
