  • PackRider: $ABR added several times over past 3-days and twice today. Intent is LT with nice Div. Moving in the last hour. Also have 20 Oct BTO 15 Call @ .47 working.
  • Amisure: $TRP $DOC $MPLX $KMI $ENB $VICI $ABR $WES $FLNG--- some high dividend ideas. not recommendations, just ideas for those interested to look into further.
  • jonwest88: @Lou $VIAC Happy New Yea- ah to you as well! I have been holding this one since mid 2020 with a cost basis ~20/share. I relinquished some at 52 in Jan 2021, but no more a few months later when it peaked and dropped--- ha! silly (not so smart me?). I bought this one originally for the 5% plus divvy and the l - o - w valuation. I bought some chunks of the $5.75 convertible preferred back a few months ago, my cost basis on that group =$60. On my current cost basis it's yielding 9.5% . At current prices , 2 years to recovery, however, its the income and valuation (trap ;-) play that (got) appealed to me. I am still holding ATM -like $NLY and $ABR as well; they are both unrealized gain positive And paying good yields.
  • Wolf: @yieldhogs $ABR Announced offering of 7.5M shares @ 19.70. Down 5 % from 11/01 offer date. If you are looking to add, may be a good chance.

  • Margi1983: @scottto_2 $CLM Nice. Here are the hogs I am long. $ABR, $BCSF,$ETJ,$MAIN, $NEWT, $NLY,$NREF,$ORC ( may dump this one),$SAR, $STWD. Standouts this year are $STWD, $NEWT, $SAR. The best although with only a 3% divi is $BX which I guess is not a hog.
  • scottto_2: @Margi1983 $CLM $ABR $BCSF $ETJ $MAIN $NEWT $NLY $NREF $ORC $SAR $STWD $BX - Thanks for the list. I'm not really concerned about the stock price as a form of appreciation since I don't want to sell my dividend producers. In fact ones that appreciate are problematic for me as I'm reinvesting the dividends (less bang for that 'free' buck) and I add to the positions with a percentage of my profitable trades to ensure that I keep growing a long-term income producers (with tax advantages).
  • Margi1983: @scottto_2 $CLM $ABR $BCSF $ETJ $MAIN $NEWT $NLY $NREF $ORC $SAR $STWD $BX Smart move using profits from trades to insure long-term income from the hogs. Dana, @jan2138 would be proud of you. He is watching the forum from heaven
  • jonwest88: $ABR 52 wk high, yld >7% Compare to $NLY ( long and holding)
  • jvee: @jonwest88 $ABR $NLY As I've said before, I'd rather be in a stock that is raising its dividends than in one that is decreasing its dividends. Go ABR!!!
  • jonwest88: High yield w positive appreciation $ABR, $VIACP
  • jonwest88: $abr new high, yld >7%
  • Mnatale: @Dan, would you be able to cover $ABR in one of your sessions please?
  • stairm01: $ABR New ATH and a 7.4% dividend.
  • jonwest88: $ABR new high, div yld @ current price = 7.4%
  • jvee: @jonwest88 $ABR I like this one too. They have increased their dividend EVERY year since 2013, which is the earliest I can view. $ORC on the other hand has decreased their dividend EVERY year since 2014.
  • jonwest88: $ABR currently paying .34 a share a quarter. Div has been .01 each quarter for the past year. Current price chart does not reflect the -.34 div adj from 5/20 ex div
  • stairm01: @CaptBryan $PSEC Many yield hogs are falling, such as $MAIN, $NRZ, $ABR, except $NEWT gapped up today on yesterday's announcement.
  • grcjr: @stairm01 $PSEC $MAIN $NRZ $ABR $NEWT - yes many. I posted earlier on $MAIN. Also $NLY !!
  • mopick: @grcjr $PSEC $MAIN $NRZ $ABR $NEWT $NLY, hey, thanks for these posts. Have been in $MAIN for a long time. Don't quite understand the downdraft in this today. Several upgrades, as you noted. Another one I have is $PTY, Pimco fund, down huge on gigantic volume. Does go ex-div today but the drop is disturbing to say the least.8.70% yield.

  • kycol: $ABR UNIONDALE, N.Y., March 25, 2021 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Arbor Realty Trust, Inc. (the “Company”) (NYSE: ABR) announced today that it priced its public offering of 7,000,000 shares of common stock for total expected gross proceeds of approximately $109.6 million before underwriting discounts and commissions and expenses. The offering is subject to customary closing conditions and is expected to close on March 30, 2021. That would be $15.66; think I’ll place a limit order for a position.

  • jmichaelet: Big down day for $ABR. Only news I can see is an announcement they are pricing a public offering of 7mm shares of common stock. Company said it intends to use the net proceeds to "make investments relating to its business and for general corporate purposes". Does such an offering explain a 5.47% down day for a high yield ticker, such as some kind of dilution, or is there something else at work here?
  • grcjr: @jvee $ORC $OXLC #yieldhogs $ABR looks possible. I'm not in $ORC.
  • Amisure: @inthemoney - few ideas -$T, $CVX, $WMB, $MO, $VZ, $ABBV, $ABR, $NLY, $AGNC. $VICI, $APAM
  • Ajax4Hire: @Amisure $T $CVX $WMB $MO $VZ $ABBV $ABR $NLY $AGNC $VICI $APAM From the office of President Not Sure: $T- AT&T, filling gap from Mon,Nov9th,2020, look out belowwwwww; $VZ - Verizon; gap from Wed,Feb17th,2021, same. I am seriously considering switching to $TMUS(from $VZ). $TMUS is sooooo hungry for customers, offering very enticing deals. I note that $T Dividend APR is 7.4%(double every 9yrs,9months) and yet still not attractive(APR 7.1173%=double every 10years) $NLY - Annaly, I own a metric-ton of $NLY from @Dan 2020-08Aug recommendation. It is one of our portfolio's shining stars, much thanks @Dan :)
  • DAN: @Ajax4Hire $T $CVX $WMB $MO $VZ $ABBV $ABR $NLY $AGNC $VICI $APAM $TMUS Thanks Ajax. $NLY has been a very easy trade, hasn't it. One transaction: "Buy." You get paid for doing nothing -- better than a job with Cal Trans.
  • Ajax4Hire: @DAN $T $CVX $WMB $MO $VZ $ABBV $ABR $NLY $AGNC $VICI $APAM $TMUS Not sure I am up to the mental ability required for a job at California Transit. Will stick to StockMarketMentor instead:)
  • Pokersmith: @Cjauger $NVDA $TSLA $ABR Wise words indeed
  • Cjauger: $NVDA has a great report then tanks, take a look at that chart, $TSLA making new lows as we speak. I recall @Dan saying that cash was a position 8% points ago, now down 1% for the year. I am now 91% cash with exception of 1 position in $ABR, I am in this one for the dividend. Growth names getting hammered. Look at the run we have had since the COVID lows. @Dan warned of a shot across the bow, I will for now take that warning and step aside
  • Hawaiianmaxx: @Cjauger $NVDA $TSLA $ABR i mean you could just buy GME....LMAO JK cash is a position. stay green friend
  • Cjauger: @scottrades $SPY $QQQ I have a small position in PLTR, sold half of this one at $36.38. Long term positions in $ABR and $NLY. And still holding $NVAX (hit the jackpot on this one). I added the 1/3 I sold back below 190. sold 1/6 at 216. Holding the rest. Small company, blockbuster vaccine, going to trade around core position, will add 1/6 back below $200. At 80% cash, I am Going to practice sitting on my hands
  • jmichaelet: $NLY and $ABR getting crushed today. Does anyone know why? I know NLY went ex-div the other day, but given that both my high dividend positions are hurting together today I assume there's something else at work here.
  • Hans_Schultz1: @jmichaelet $NLY $ABR I haven't held any yield hogs for a long time but this type of thing was common back when I did. Often they would do a big share issue shortly after the div or a rotation out would happen after the div. Really have to be ok with the share price not going up and at least in my experience, going down. They can go up, but I wouldn't expect that. As long as the div is safe that is why you hold these. If you will need to sell in the near term you may take a loss. These are great for the people that have the ability to hold through it all. They aren't for everybody and eventually I decided I was better off focusing on other ideas.
  • jmichaelet: @Hans_Schultz1 $NLY $ABR That's a great point, and to be clear it's just a portion of a couple of accounts for me. I'm happy to keep that portion at rest for the dividend compounding. (I'm in my early 30s, so no worries on time frame in the retirement account). Mostly I was asking because I saw a sharp drop for both, and when that sort of thing happens I get curious if there's something happening in a broader sense that I need to rethink the position. Kind of like how NLY was above $10 for the longest time and has been well below that level for awhile.
  • PRK: @jmichaelet $NLY $ABR You would be very surprised at the number of shares you can accumulate when holding high yielding stocks for many years, and reinvesting dividends (through your broker). I own many companies and funds with mostly shares that were given to me through dividend reinvesting. This strategy has worked very well for me, it just took a lot of time and patience and a good company that paid dividends consistently.
  • Amisure: @DAN: regarding dividend dogs- I'm liking the idea of putting out there some good divvy plays. I.E. $AGNC $NLY $ABR and muni plays - such as $BHYAX $VWAHX. I'm not in all these but would like similar ideas from yous guys or others. thanks
  • Danzguy: @Amisure $AGNC $NLY $ABR $BHYAX $VWAHX @Dan, I agree! I think a Yield Hogs type of feature would be a great value to this service. There were times in the past when I would filter the forum for @Jan2138 because that was all that I wanted to know! Anyway, just something to noodle around with. Be safe and trade'em well!
  • 1winkie: @Amisure $AGNC $NLY $ABR $BHYAX $VWAHX $T - recovering from recent lows - over 7% dividend - player in 5G - good divvy play - long
  • heyjack: @Amisure $AGNC $NLY $ABR $BHYAX $VWAHX I used to have quite a varied collection of yieldhogs. I gradually narrowed them down to $MAIN, $NEWT and more recently back into $NLY. Good sized positions in each helping to fund my retirement. Good entries as usual help make it easy to hold them.

  • Cjauger: thoughts on $ABR?
  • Ajax4Hire: @Cjauger $ABR Apartment and Commercial REIT. RAISED their dividend and Raised it again. That is exceptional confidence in this environment. Must be the coming mortgage default wave pushing many into apartments, increasing demand allowing for increase in rent. Definitely one to consider. $NLY-Annaly pays more dividend per year; $AGNC pays dividend monthly for those who want a steady income

  • jschibal: @DAN $SPY $FTCH $NLY $JD $BIDU $NOW $TSM $OCUL $PLUG $ENPH $VSTO $ABR - I anticipate (if I had to guess) that we will see some stability after the results are finalized regardless of who wins the White House or controls the Senate. I think much of the instability is coming from the not knowing or worst case scenario of a contested election resulting in riots and a supreme court deciding the outcome.

  • AlexJFraser: Is anyone looking at $abr ? It came up on a scan. It is a low dollar stock, but it is in a squeeze, volume is fading. It is right above the 50 MA. Nice long daily/Weekly base. I'm not great with fundamentals though so I'm not sure about those. I'm watching for a move above 12.15.
  • BocaRick: @AlexJFraser $ABR is on the #IBD Income Investor stock list with a Buy Point of 12.50 as it forms a handle, it yields 10.5% - the stock fell from 15.
  • AlexJFraser: @BocaRick $ABR #IBD Thank you. that is good info to have.
  • mopick: $ABR, new high for this REIT, up almost 40% YTD, paying almost 9%.
  • mopick: @jan2138 $CLNY, thanks, as always for posting this. Still hangin in there with this one, barely. You note above that 7.32% won't attract yield buyers? Why not? I'd be quite happy with that yield but I assume you're referencing their risk, right? Lastly, I notice you don't follow $ABR. I can't find a better REIT performer this year, up over 30% & pays almost 9%.
  • Lou: @mopick $CLNY $ABR - don't make the same mistake with $CLNY that you made with $NRE yesterday. I read the SEC filing and listened to conference call. Getting rid of Salzman (a mortgage banker masquerading as a real estate guru) was a beginning; announcing a total commitment to maintaining current 11 cent/q dividend is helpful, and implementing the plan outlined in CC will restore some value. I had a few loose bucks in one of my IRAs so I added in spite of having a more than adequate position. Patience here will pay off.
  • jan2138: @mopick $CLNY $ABR Yes, 7.32% for a risk like this is not enough> $ABR is one I am not familiar with. Looks like you've had a good experience. Great.
