  • glenmax: @BellaVino $CYRX $CECO $PODD $TEAM - entry is my biggest challenge too, although the way I am playing it is waiting for the stock to come back to support. If its too big a spread, for me - no.

  • Sluggo: $DIS $MSFT $CHGG $ICE $SBUX $AUDC $TSN $HOLX $BX $FBM $HMSY $PINS $TWTR $PG $CECO $ARWR $TW Stopped out of $CHGG today. Out of my 16 stocks, only 2 are down more than a buck today. I am positioned for this downturn, and my positions are performing admirably, However, I still take a hit while we are facing these headwinds. Just going about my knitting and pulling back my claws a bit. If my stops hit, they do. If I don't trust myself (and I do) then why question my stops?
  • Rickg: @Sluggo $CHGG $EDU or $CECO
  • Sluggo: @Rickg $CHGG $EDU $CECO $CECO is not at a great buy point, but I would buy it over $EDU based on the fact that it is ($CECO at a lower PE and has accelerating earnings) a better buy. Plus (no offense to Chinese stocks) it has verifiable earnings and rev.
  • Sluggo: @Rickg $CHGG $EDU $CECO Oh, what the halibut! I bought a starter here at $21.86. You win, Rick!
  • Sluggo: $CECO A shout out to @rickg on this one. I was telling him about $CHGG and he was telling me about $CECO. Bought one hunk and then another before AM. High, but I got excited. PE of 16, a very strong growth rate, and also in the educational sector that is doing well. What's not to like? My buy point, maybe. We'll see.
  • Sluggo: $CECO Popping in AH. Kinda justifies my insanely high buy price of $21.86. Actually, not that high when you consider the 8MA, 20MA and 50MA are all intertwined. Support only a buck away.
  • Sluggo: $CECO Make that $2 to support of multiple averages. Low risk bet.
  • alfred1939: $ceco marching higher since it broke out. Fairly cheap issue.
  • spmeyers: $CECO breakout from mini-squeeze on good volume
  • Trixie: $CECO, I see it coming into a volatility squeeze or starting to squeeze. It looks to have established a reasonable nearer term uptrend. I can draw 3 bounces off the trendline/50ma. Earnings are a little further out into May. Insider transactions at least per finviz is positive. I'm thinking of it being something like the IBM idea that @Dan had thrown out a little while ago. Looking out to the 5 yr volume profile chart on $CECO there doesn't seem to be much volume traded above 8. Anyone have any comments..

  • DAN: $CECO announces earnings on Nov. 6th. Last Friday the stock jumped in a big way when the company announced that it was going to sell its European education properties. This is not something that I'd be buying now. In fact, if I owned it (I don't), I'd be taking profits on it. When a stock moves from $3 up to $5.77, you take the money and run. @Dan
  • jververis: $CECO - Looked at it at 3.0 just over the 200 day. Now up 50% to 6 after earnings...damn missed this one. John
  • jja2: $CECO - I got this stock after @Dan talked about it on July 8 and just held it. This move up surprised me, but I took it. I think it was just "luck" as we had no Idea they were planning to sell their European education properties or that it would sell for more than its own market cap. They are also closing 23 campuses due to losses and falling enrollments. Wells Fargo's Trace Urdan raised Career Education's shares to Outperform from Market Perform, and believes the shares are now worth between $5 and $7.

  • woodman: $CECO - Moving up out of flag.
  • woodman: $CECO - flag pattern and holding the 8 dEMA. Around $4.20-$4.30 looks like where we can expect next significant resistance, though it is fairly extended off the 50 and 200 days. I got in at $3.44, I think after @DAN originally pointed this one out. If someone else pointed it out, I apologize for not recalling (thanking... crediting...) you.
  • DAN: A couple of recent stocks that I have covered (though not often...which is why I'm mentioning them now) are $MX and CECO. $MX is at the top of a new trading range, having bounced off the 50-day moving average. I'd have a hard time buying it now...but I'd pull the trigger if it falls to $18. $CECO is popping out of a volatility #squeeze. It's currently "overbought"...but with the stock now above the 200-day moving average, being overbought is not a bad thing. @Dan

  • ALBERTAGUY: $CECO - $COCO - BULLISH ENGULFING ON DOWN DAY - I noticed on Thursday after the market closed that these stocks were showing a bullish engulfing pattern. I was intrigued because i thought- hey if on a market down day these guys were bullish - tomoorow should be a really good day for them, especially if the market bounces. The problem was I was not sure how to place an order. As it turned out these stocks gapped up bigtime on Friday. So now I think i would have been right to somehow recognize this before end of trading day on Thursday and buy a position late in the day expecting an up day Friday. Did anyone do this and can you share how you can be alerted to this pattern (with 15 minutes left in trading day on a market down => 2% filter all stocks with bullish engulfing pattern?).

The others are bouncing on lower volume than during yesterday's selloff. Perhaps we're seeing short covering from yesterday's bold bears? The heavy profit taking has broken the upside, and I'm staying away from this sector.
